Are your knives in need of sharpening?

The **DMT Diamond-Vee 20004** is a very practical pocket sharpener. You can use this device at home, but is mostly suited for sharpening your knives on the road. With the diamond-coated sharpening rods you make sure your knives will be sharp again in no time at all!


This practical DMT sharpening tool is shaped like a razor. The ergonomically designed handle is enhanced with a rubber top, for additional grip. So if you don't have a table or other flat surface nearby you can simply hold it in hand and still easily sharpen your knives.


## how does it work?


The back of the sharpener contains a little hatch you can open with your thumb and index finger. Below you will find two diamond-coated sharpening steels. With the black knob you can release the rods and turn them out. Pretty straightforward. The top side of this device is enhanced with stripes with the numbers 10, 15 and 20 to help you determine the right sharpening angle. Adjust the rods at the right angle and secure them with the black knob to make sure you cannot change the angle.


Now you can start sharpening your knives. You do this by placing the knife in between the rods in such as way that both sides of the edge come in contact with the rods. Start at the heel and pull the knife towards you, in the direction of the tip. How often you need to repeat this movement depends on the bluntness of your knives.


## Curved and serrated blades


You can also sharpen curved and serrated blades with this sharpener. As such sharpening your turning or bread knife will be a piece of cake. For it you use the round side of one of both sharpening steels. You need to determine the angle yourself (place the knife at a 90-degree angle and take half of that twice and you will end up with a 22.5-degree angle). You sharpen a curved blade by moving the edge from the heel towards the tip. With a serrated knife you sharpen the blade one serration at a time.
