The **WOOX TERRA Hunting Axe, Micarta X-Grip Brown, hand axe** is anything but an average axe. This is a fine piece of craftsmanship that performs as well as it looks. Thanks to its all-steel construction, this axe is sturdy and reliable to use. The handle deliberately stops before the axe head, so the beautiful handle scales are not easily damaged if you miss your target once. The high blade makes precise chopping easier than ever. 

The handles of these axes are made in Italy. The axe itself is forged and then united with the handle scales at WOOX's production facility in Hickory, North Carolina, in the USA. 

## WOOX TERRA Hunting Axe steel type

The axe head of the TERRA is forged from 4140 steel, a strong steel known for its wear resistance and toughness. The axe head has been hardened to 57 HRC for long-lasting sharpness, while the handle has been left a little less hard at 45 HRC. That clever construction helps absorb shocks, keeping you comfortable even during heavy use.

## WOOX TERRA Hunting Axe handle material

TERRA is available with two types of handles: classic walnut or tough micarta X-grip in a warm brown colour. The walnut gives the axe a traditional look with a luxurious feel and fine, grip. If you choose the micarta version, you get maximum grip even when wet. This is in part owed to the grooves in the handle. Whatever you choose, both options combine looks with ease of use.
