The **Marttiini Kaamos Dark Birch** is a traditional Finnish Puukko. These knives were used in Scandinavia as all-rounders. From everyday cutting tasks to hunting and fishing. These knives are even suitable for food prep or for use in your kitchen. The inspiration for this knife was therefore drawn from the almost 100 years of history and experience in knife making that the Finnish brand Marttiini has. The knife is made from natural materials. Wood for the handle and leather for the sheath.

The knife features a scandi grind. The scandi grind, as the name suggests, originates from Scandinavia. The scandi grind has been the standard for ages when it comes to outdoor knives, hunting knives and bushcraft knives. In fact, a large v-shaped edge, without any further frills. A scandi grind is easy to manufacture and easy to sharpen at home. A scandi grind is great for wood work. Because the blade is relatively thick, it is very strong and can handle quite a lot.

## Birch wood handle

The handle is made from coloured birch wood The end of the handle flares out a bit, which gives the user a better grip when the knife is pulled out of the sheath or in use. Moreover, the wood of the handle has a slight texture which also facilitates a good grip. The wood has a dark brown colour. Thanks to the light weight, the knife is comfortable to carry on your belt, for example.

## Carbon steel blade

The blade is made from carbon steel with a black coating. Carbon steel is a popular choice for outdoor knives. The advantage of carbon steel is that it is often tougher than stainless steel, and it is very easy to sharpen yourself. 

## Leather sheath

The Marttiini Kaamos Carbon comes with a leather sheath. The sheath is black and has a distinct shape. Marttiini's logo has been lasered onto the sheath. The sheath has a leather loop that allows you to attach it to a belt, for example.

Fraai mes, goed afgewerkt, snelle en goede verzending zoals altijd.

Enorm scherp ontvangen, zoals je gewend bent van Marttiini. Handvat is onbewerkt dus je kan zelf de finnish geven die je wilt. De schede is stevig en ziet er goed uit.

Kortom je kan niet mis net dit mes voor de prijs! De Finnen weten duidelijk hoe het moet!

Prachtig mes! Ligt goed in de hand. Hoort echt in de verzameling. Het personaliseren is ook echt een leuke aanrader!

Het mes is mooier dan het er op de foto uitziet. Ik ben ook zeer tevreden over de dikte van het lemmet. Doordat het iets dunner is, kan je er ook fijnere taken mee doen zoals eten snijden. Dit is geen bushcraftmes voor het grove werk, maar des te meer voor het fijnere houtsnijwerk. En voor deze prijs kan je het niet laten liggen!

Een fijn mes, goed om feather-sticks mee te maken.
