Sharpening steels with CBN for the Spyderco Sharpmaker

The top-quality **Spyderco Cubic Boron Nitride sharpening rods coarse, 204CBN** are suited for use in the [Spyderco Sharpmaker.](/en/pt/-spyderco-sharpmaker-204mf.htm)

You can, however, also use this sharpening rod without the Sharpmaker. The triangular shape with special sharpening groove is perfect for various sharpening jobs. The material used for the sharpening steel is comprised of CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride). This is a hard sharpening material that quickly removes material. With it you can also easily sharpen harder metals! 

These CBN-rods come with a special user guide. It is even more important than with the diamond rods to exert as little pressure as possible when you sharpen your knife. You need to let the CBN do all the work. More pressure will only wear out the sharpening rods faster.

Here it concerns coarse sharpening rods that are perfect when giving your blunt knives a new edge. For razor-sharp results it is best if you use [Spyderco fine ceramic sharpening rods](kato://product/SP203F1).

Für eine neue aufzubauende Schneide, sehr empfehlenswert. Zwar nicht billig, aber gut.

Very poor sharpening ability I wouldn’t recommend this to anybody

Produit moyen, j'espérais mieux venant de Spyderco. Les grains sont différents d'une barre à l'autre, l'une à un grain plus grossier que la seconde. J'ai compris en voyant la provenance du produit une semaine après, fabrication chinoise… Déçu donc, vu le prix et la qualité du produit, qui fait toutefois le job et enlève pas mal de matière sur mon Para 2 en CPM S110V.

Kost een paar centen maar je helpt er wel veel plezier van.
Bij iets groter onderhoud aan je messen, als hier een klein haaltje of hapje uit is, heb je hem zo weer in model.
Je verliest vrij veel materiaal in korte tijd, dus je hebt snel je fijne mes weer in top conditie.

Gebruik al jaren de sharpmaker. Dit is een goede aanvulling. Je hoeft weinig druk op uit te oefenen en hoeft niet als bij diamant ingeslepen te worden. Als het formaat groter was kon ik hier ook mijn zwaard slijpen.
