When you go to [sharpening on an Ardennes Coticule natural stone](/en/ct/sharpening-with-a-coticule-whetstone.htm) you use the slurry on the stone. Often, a small piece of Coticule is used to create more slurry on the stone. Such a stone is hence called a Slurry stone.
  
  
 
Just like Ardennes Coticules themselves, the slurry stones are available in Standard and Selected variants. The Coticule has a yellow and white colour with sometimes a red and green shine to it. The 'Selected' is a completely flat stone while 'Standard' can have some little imperfections or natural discolourations. This has no effect on the sharpening properties.
  
  
 
Because of the size and shape are these stones also very suitable for grinding chisels and gouges for example.
  
  
 
Coticule sharpening stones are all-natural products. Because of this the slurry stones are not all equal by shape and size, which makes each stone unique. These stones have a surface of roughly 12 to 18 cm².

Voldoet op geen enkele manier aan de verwachting. Ik gad nadrukkelijk gevraagd om een rechthoek. Steen is echter trapezoide. Oppervlakte is met hooguit 9cm2 aanzienlijk minder dan de bij het pruduct aangegeven 12-18 cm2, daarmee voldoet de steen niet aan de gewekte verwachting en ook niet aan de vraag gesteld in het opmerkingenveld bij bestelling. Hij is in oppervlakte een kwart tot de helft te klein! Hij kan dus niet eens over de volle breedte ineens van een vrij smalle coticule slurry maken. Steen gaat dus per direct retour. Zeer teleurstellend!
