The **Casström Lars Fält Knife** is a fixed bushcraft knife, designed by outdoor legend Lars Fält. He has been a widely respected expert in the field of bushcraft and survival skills for many years. He has written many books and has been organising fieldtrips in the great outdoors for years. If someone knows what a good knife should adhere to, it is Lars Fält. 

 The blade has a traditional drop point shape. As such you can easily use it during wood work. The edge has a scandi grind. The blade is made from Sleipner steel. This is a type of steel that is similar to the D2-steel. Very tough and easy to sharpen. Important to oil the blade after use: Sleipner is not stainless.

 The handle is made from a nice piece of curly birch wood. That is birch root wood. Casström has stabilized this wood to make it as sustainable as possible. A black liner is placed between the wood and the handle. This looks amazing and at the same time it absorbs the blows between the handle and the blade. 

 As you are used to from Casström, the handle is very ergonomically designed. It feels great in hand, even during long-term use. The blade is quite long in comparison to the handle. This allows you to baton slightly thicker stems and branches without the blade becoming too long.

 A sturdy leather case is included to safely carry the Casström Lars Falt knife with you. This has a belt loop for belts up to 6 cm.

Sans regrets. Ce couteau est parmi les knives que je possède, le number one. La lame a la dureté indispensable pour mes exploration en montagne, l'équilibre, l'ergonomie ainsi que sa productivité sont au RDV. Il accompagne mes haches. Son étui le protège efficacement, en bref, faites vous plaisir.
De plus l'emballage est à la hauteur de sa superbe et merci à Knivesandtools de commercialiser des produits de belles et très bonnes qualités.


De Lars Falt stond al een tijdje op mijn verlanglijstje dus toen dit mes in de aanbieding was bij K&T heb ik mijn slag geslagen en daar heb ik geen spijt van! Dit is een fantastisch ontwerp, eigenlijk gewoon een tweelingbroertje van de woodlore, het bushcraftmes ontworpen door Ray Mears, de goede vriend van Lars Falt. Casstrom garandeert tegen breuk door batonnen en dat begrijp ik gezien het voor een mes van dit formaat erg dikke lemmet waar je overigens niets nadeligs van merkt uitgezonderd bijv. een erg grote ui bij foodprep, die spleet meer dan dat hij doorgesneden werd. Die neiging tot splijten is dan weer heerlijk bij het klein maken van brandhout, alsof het een bijltje is! Veertjes snijden en haartjes schrapen gaat heerlijk dankzij de ECHTE scandi en scherpe rug die als de tijd van ontsteken is gekomen ook nog eens prima vonken schraapt. Het handvat is een geweldige cokebottlevorm die geen hotspots geeft en uitgevoerd is in prachtige gestabiliseerde krulberk. De schede is ook een stukje vakwerk in dik, mooi leer. Overigens vind ik het jammer dat de dangler er niet bijgeleverd word, die heb ik nabesteld.
Al met al is dit een fantastisch bushcraftmes dat aan de absolute top staat. Er zijn er wel met exotischer materialen en hogere prijskaartjes maar kan je het verbeteren? Ik denk van niet, of het zou een upgrade naar magnacut moeten zijn maar dat is geneuzel in de marge aangezien je in de praktijk weinig verschil merkt bij de superstalen.
Dit is een mes waar ik het veld mee in durf, aan dit mes kan je je leven toevertrouwen.

Wollte schon länger ein Casström, war echt begeistert. Zum Beispiel darüber, daß ein Schneidwerkzeug die Fabrik scharf verlassen kann. Kann man sich mit rasieren.
K&T ist nach wie vor eine klasse Adresse für so einiges. War nicht mein letzter Einkauf da.
