The rod feels excellent to hold: very sturdy and solid feeling, with a reassuring amount of weight. It comes in a plastic mould that can be used to store the rod in the cutlery drawer and protect it from other items. The value for money of this item is excellent. Also, I particuarly like how the grit number is stated on the item description; something that is otherwise exclusive to higher priced rods, but is a very important purchasing consideration. The rod appears to true my VG10 knife, although since this is my first time using a honing rod, I cannot compare the quality to any other item on the market. However, I believe it to be a good product.
